New Samsat Policy in Depok-Bekasi Allows Vehicle Registration Without Original BPKB

Residents of Depok, Bekasi City, and Bekasi Regency no longer need to bring their original Vehicle Ownership Book (BPKB) when paying motor vehicle taxes (PKB). The new policy simplifies the process, allowing taxpayers to complete payments more conveniently.

Previously, vehicle owners were required to present either the original or a photocopy of their BPKB to complete tax payments. Under the updated procedure, they can now access payment services directly without the document. This applies both at Samsat offices and through the digital payment system SIGNAL, which further streamlines the administrative process.

Authorities say this change is expected to encourage greater compliance with motor vehicle tax obligations. By making it easier for residents to pay, more people are likely to fulfill their tax responsibilities on time, contributing to local infrastructure and public services.

The collected taxes are allocated to maintain provincial, city, and district roads, as well as other public facilities. Traffic officials in Depok confirmed that taxpayers can now pay without presenting BPKB in any form, emphasizing the validity of the simplified process.

Local authorities urge residents to take advantage of the digital services provided, reducing the need to visit Samsat offices in person. The convenience is expected to increase efficiency while ensuring that revenue from motor vehicle taxes continues to support infrastructure improvements across the region.

With this policy, residents of Depok and Bekasi can manage their vehicle taxes more easily while contributing to the development and maintenance of local roads and public facilities.
